Designer and Professor: curiosityHQ and University of South Carolina School of Visual Art and Design
What are you working on right now?
Poster designs for clients in my studio curiosityHQ; preparing talks to present at a few upcoming events; and two grant projects funded by the University of South Carolina.
Who is your ideal client?
I love a communicative client who is not afraid to think differently with me.
What is your big picture vision for your business?
At curiosityHQ I want to keep doing the work I believe in, supporting local small businesses and working with national clients. We are currently working on our big dream at the University of South Carolina School of Visual Art + Design developing a student run design center, "The Design Studio" on campus.
What is a common misconception about your work?
That the computer does all the work, or that designers can just "whip something up real quick." When done correctly, design anticipates the needs of the user before the user even knows there is a need.
What podcast should everyone listen to?
Stuff You Should Know + This American Life (and oldie, but a goodie)
What is your guilty pleasure?
"Trash" TV and Young Adult Fiction

What is your best piece of business advice?

Do you have any passion projects outside of your job?
No; Everything I do is a part of everything else.
Who is your biggest inspiration?
