WHAT IT'S ABOUT
This presentation will include an introduction to many common business issues that may fall under the legal umbrella. Participants will learn, among other things, about setting up a new business, identifying and reducing risks, contracts and legal documents, and considerations when growing your business. Finally, we will discuss the role of an attorney as one of your business partners and what attorneys do and don't do, with the goal of helping you know when to seek advice and from whom. The presentation will be geared toward the prospective and new business owner, but all who are curious about protecting themselves and their business are welcome.
1. Understand the role of the attorney as one of your partners in business and how to get the most from your relationship with your attorney.
2. Learn the basics when starting a new business.
3. Learn about common risks to look for and how to reduce those risks.
Speaker Bio: Claire Hall has practiced law in South Carolina for over 10 years. Currently she is an attorney at the Parker Poe law firm where she represents manufacturing and industrial clients in myriad of issues related to expansions and new developments. Many of those clients are established businesses starting a new venture in the United States for the first time. Claire serves on the board of the South Carolina Women Lawyer's Association and is passionate about elevating the status and influence of women in law, business and our communities.
