About the Event
éDeath Positive SC
Led by Heather Leigh of Greenhaven Memorial Gardens & Life Tribute Center
The first Death Cafe was held in August 2018 to promote conversations about death and help people connect and share their experiences.
The objective is 'to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives'.
A Death Café is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session. It is an opportunity for individuals of any background, religion, culture or belief to meet together to share, learn and discuss in a safe, friendly, relaxed and non-judgmental environment.
The meeting will be informal, insightful and far from morbid! Everyone is welcome to bring their thoughts, friends and family. Intrigued? Come along....Remember, talking about death won’t make it happen!
The Death Cafés are always offered:
- On a not for profit basis
- In an accessible, respectful and confidential space
- With no intention of leading people to any conclusion, product or course of action
- Alongside refreshing drinks and nourishing hors d’oeuvres.
